First song +

OY!
So today I kick off this 1-song-a-day ordeal, on a Tuesday, because Monday is just not a good day (for most of us).

So here is song numero uno:

Band: Pussy Riot
Song Title: Putin lights up the fires (Putin zazhigayet kostry)
Country: Russia

Notes:
If you know anything about punk you probably know who Pussy Riot is. They may be young and they may be new to the punk rock movement but they sure as hell put themselves in front of the line since 3 of their members were convicted and sentenced to 2 years imprisonment in Russia. The Sex Pistols never ended up in prison for being outspoken. Much respect to these ladies for not standing by quietly.

First post.

Hello people!
And welcome, to the grand opening of this new blog

"1 SONG EVERY DAY"

(I tried hard to get "a song a day" but this is the best I could do)

I think this is a good way for me to avoid a daily post and procrastinate since I love music and there probably is nothing easier for me to write about. This is my second blog (my first being http://malditaspoesias.blogspot.com/)

I hope to share some of my musical interest and insight with a daily song post.

WARNING: Be aware I listen to all kinds of music, but none of that commercial bulls*** they play on most popular radio stations. None of that! I like real music, not karaoke singers with a costume on, or folk that "mix" other people's work on their lap top and call it "music" or any of that crud.

I appreciate music written and interpreted with soul, not made for the soul purpose of generating money.

Here is a brief list of some of my favorite artist, so you get an idea of how diverse it may get:

The Doors, Chopin, Bad Brains, Megadeth, Radiohead, Type O Negative, Bob Dylan, Pantera, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Heroes del Silencio, Black Sabbath, Bob Marley, Bauhaus, Led Zeppelin, The Cure, Michael Jackson, Interpol, Alice in Chains, Suicidal Tendencies, Down, Skidrow, Beethoven...etc. You get the idea.

So feel free to comment, interact, make suggestions and voice your opinion. They call me an elitist when it comes to music, but if having an opinion about something I'm passionate about is illegal then I'd gladly be imprisoned for it.
